Gerard Curtis Delano
Delano was a successful commercial artist and illustrator. After 1940 he began painting full-time, working in oil and watercolor. It was at this time that he visited Arizona and the Navajo Reservation. He was so captivated by the majestic landscape and the native people that he spent the remaining 32 years of his career exploring that theme.
