Carl Oscar Borg

Swedish born artist, illustrator and teacher Carol Oscar Borg painted internationally before settling in Southern California and becoming a prolific Western genre painter specializing in landscapes and Indian and cowboy subjects. For him "the Navajo and Hopi land" became the most interesting in the world. In painting the "Magic Region" and its natives, Borg succeeded in transmitting his own emotion, his sense of awe and invoking in the spectator a powerful sense of wonder at the sadness and dignity of man in nature.
