Blooms: Floral Art in the Stark Collections
March 13 - September 4, 2010
This exhibition focuses on the flower as an inspiration for the visual arts.
Blooms: Floral Art in the Stark Collections explores flowering beauty as expressed in works of art from early botanical books to exuberant still-life paintings.
Blooms, which was previously scheduled to close June 12, will be extended through much of the summer. The summer version of the exhibition will include a selection of images that will be different from the opening display. Pages in the rare books will be turned to new images, and works of art on paper will be rotated with new prints and drawings for preservation purposes.
