Sue Harris joined the Stark Museum of Art staff in 2001, beginning as a rights and reproductions specialist. In March 2005 she assumed responsibility for Museum education. As Education Coordinator, she oversees the Museum’s educational mission and develops plans for educational programming related to the Museum’s collections and exhibitions. She plans tour content; schedules student and adult tours; trains and supervises docents; and develops curriculum-based programs, publications and materials for schools. She partnered with the Lutcher Theater, a local school district, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in 2003 to present fine arts related workshops for area teachers. She also coordinates the Miriam Lutcher Stark Contest in Reading and Declamation for the Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation. She designed a Stark Museum Book Cover for school children that received the Texas Association of Museum’s prestigious Mitchell A. Wilder award for excellence in publication and media design for supplementary materials.

A graduate of Lamar University, Sue Harris taught in public schools in Texas and Oklahoma before joining the staff of the Stark Museum of Art. She was recently elected President of the Theta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional honor society of women educators. She is also a member of the American Association of University Women, past President of the Orange County A&M Mothers’ Club, and past President of the Service League of Orange.
